‘I’m a strong person, but every now and then, I would like someone to take my hand and say everything will be alright’

We are so pleased and proud to be a continuous support assisting Ronald McDonald House with our time and generous donations from our families and friends. We have been involved with this partnership since opening the centre. We believe in the saying ‘It takes a village to raise a child,’ however in this case our village here at Platinum is truly dedicated in extending our support to not only the families but also to our wider community.
Ways in which we help at Ronald McDonald House are:
Free childcare for RMH families - we offer casual attendance places to children from Ronald McDonald House and their families in order to allow their parents to have some time off and to let their children to spend some time away from the hospital. Our regular students welcome these children showing their true innocence of inclusion and treat them as part of our family.
Cooking nights – twice a year our parents get together to cook for the residents of Randwick House. The House supports over 80 people every day, many of which come from distant regional areas. Being away from families and friends, for potentially months at a time, can be really lonely so, providing a home-cooked meal and some good conversation is something we love to do.
Easter Egg Collections – every year we ask our parents and friends to drop Easter Eggs into our baskets for the children staying at Ronald McDonald House. These eggs are then delivered by our very own Easter Bunny which is a welcome and well-deserved treat for the children staying at the house.
