What to bring each day

To help your child have a smooth and comfortable day at Platinum, please ensure their school bag includes the following:

• Several pairs of underpants (especially important for children who are toilet training)
• Extra bottoms and spare socks & shoes
• A wet bag for any soiled clothing
• One complete change of clothes that’s weather-appropriate
• A light jumper
• A full drink bottle
• A lunch box with their daily meals

Bringing their own lunch each day is a great way for children to develop independence and confidence, and it also plays an important role in their transition to Primary School.

Learning how to open their lunchbox, manage different containers, and decide what to eat first are all simple yet valuable skills that help children feel more capable and in control. It also gives them a chance to practise making choices, following routines, and building healthy eating habits.

At Platinum, we support and encourage these moments of independence during mealtimes, helping children become more prepared for the structure and expectations of school life.

Sun Protection:

• We ask that parents apply SPF30+ broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen to their child before arriving each morning. Additional sunscreen is available on the deck, and we’ll reapply as needed during the day. Each child is given a hat at enrolment, which stays at preschool in an individual pocket and is washed regularly for hygiene.
• If your child requires their own sunscreen due to a skin condition, it must come with a doctor’s note and be pharmacy-labelled with your child’s name, date of birth, expiry date, and usage instructions. Please bring this directly to the office—we’ll store it safely in our medication cupboard and let you know when it’s running low or near expiry.
• Please label all items, including clothing, shoes, bags, and containers, with your child’s full name. This helps us return any lost items quickly. Unlabelled or misplaced belongings will be placed on the ‘Lost and Found Table.’
